Emirates Medical Association's Plastic Surgery Society- a division of the Emirates Medical Association, has confirmed the 3rd National Burn Week, to be held in Dubai, UAE on February 2009 at the Dubai Police Academy

The Plastic Surgery Society (PSS) works independently under the umbrella of the Emirates Medical Association (EMA) in compiling and sharing related updates with all concerned and maintaining an internationally accepted standard in addressing issues in this field. The Emirates Medical Association is a not- for- profit organization which plays a vital role in continuous improvement in the quality of healthcare in the UAE; comprising of over 34 societies, EMA boasts membership strength of over 3400 members.

The event is supported by various governmental and international organisations.The theme of this year’s event is Together in Burn Prevention.

The program revolves around subjects such as Topical Management of Burns, Systematic Management of Burns, Reconstruction and Rehabilitation, Fire and Safety and concludes with two full days dedicated to the public for general lectures of Burn Prevention and Cure. The programme not only addresses the needs of medical professionals but professionals involved with the production and supply of burn prevention tools.

The programme is internationally recognised and all participants will be awarded with CME credits for the benefit of their professional learning and development.
